All of my clients are smart, ambitious, health conscious, and super cool.  Although I coach people of all ages most of my clients are 35+ with the majority being baby boomers looking to reclaim their health.  Here are a few comments from the people whom I derive my inspiration:

Well I just got the results of my annual physical and blood work. Penny McIntosh is my fitness advisor and enthusiastic advocate of the diet (more of a lifestyle change) that I’ve been on for 16 months. In addition to losing 50 lbs, (the first 30 without exercise) my blood pressure has gone down from 155/95 to 110/65. In 2009 my cholesterol was 205. Then after 2 months on the diet it was 168, and now it’s 123! Triglycerides are way down. If you are getting this testimony it means I want you to live a long time.  Guess what? Fat doesn’t make you fat. Try it for a month and see what happens. I double dare you. Remember, you can eat all you want.  — Ben Glascock


Last August is when my family doctor diagnosed me as being insulin resistant.  At that time, my bloodwork showed an insulin level of 22 (normal is 17 or below).  At that time, I was “crashing” quite often and constantly monitoring my glucose levels.  I was also on a strict, medically supervised diet, not losing weight, feeling horribly drained, and having my legs collapse under me in the mornings when I got up.

Around October is when I saw an endocrinologist and he did his own bloodwork, and the results were worse, he said I was severely insulin resistant.  I took two different drugs for two weeks each, trying to control it and keep from having hypoglycemic crashes, but it seemed they only made me crash harder and quicker, and more frequent.  I quit taking both and told the doctor I was going to do it on my own.

That’s when I turned to Penny, and with me following what she taught me, my insulin level from last week’s bloodwork came back as a 9!!!  I had to call the automated machine like five times and listen to it over and over to make sure I was hearing it correctly!  Also, I have not crashed one time since starting this in January!

I have been struggling with my weight since the birth of my children 25 years ago.  I lose and I gain and wonder why other people do not have the same problem with losing weight that I do, it is just not fair I would say and still say.  I think I had an ahha moment this week.  All of Penny’s preaching has finally taken hold on me.  I have a real problem with carbs, I am learning that the processed ones are not my friend and are keeping me from losing the remainder of my weight to reach my goal.  For a side note I have been stuck at this weight for 1 year.  The workout part I get and love seeing the results.  I have learned from Penny’s help the importance of strength training.  I was just a cardio girl but the combination of 3 days of strength and 3 days of cardio with a HIIT thrown in, I am really seeing the results I want.  I like the way I look again even though it has taken me 25 years to get back.  Young people do it now don’t wait until your 50’s like me!!  I told my daughter I wish I had done this 10 years ago and she said “Mom what if you had done it 20 years ago”, but remember it is never too late! — K.D.

After nearly 6 months of Physical and Total Body training with you, I have some exciting lab values to share.  Prior to working with you, my diagnoses included: Metabolic Syndrome, High Cholesterol and high blood pressure. I started a physical training program as well as lifestyle changes.  My meal plan includes low carb and high protein foods.  I eat all the healthy fats I want and try to keep my carb intake around 40/day. This lifestyle change has afford me improved lab work and a 31 pound weight loss.
